UPWARD BASKETBALL
Offered in Winter Season (registration in October/November).
• For boys & girls, ages 5 to 14
• Coed unless number of participants warrants separating leagues
• Divisions are generally dispersed in 2-year or 2-grade increments (i.e. 1st & 2nd grades, 3rd & 4th, etc.)
Upward Basketball promotes character and self-esteem in every child by providing:
• An evaluation process to ensure equal opportunity for improvement
• Equal playing time for every player
• A one-hour practice and game each week of the season
• Individual awards after each practice and game
The one-time registration fee of $68 covers an 8-game season, as well as the following:
• Reversible Jersey
• T-shirt with Upward Logo
• Car Magnet
• Individual Awards after each practice and game
• End-of-season Award
• End-of-season Awards Night activities
• Shorts are not covered, but are optional for $11
Every player must attend an evaluation (usually held in early December) as part of the registration process---see dates, times, & location on the home page once registration begins. Game/practice venues will be made available closer to the start of the season. Practices are held on a weeknight at a rate of once per week for an hour, anywhere between 5:30 & 7:30pm, typically on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays. They begin in early January. You can indicate which practice night is NOT good for you on the registration form, and we would do our best to accommodate. One-hour games begin in late January, and take place each Saturday thereafter for 8 weeks. Awards Night brings the season to a close, usually in late March. Other pertinent information regarding registration and evaluations is listed on the form provided for each respective season (link to download form on home page during promotion phase). Otherwise, contact Ken Frauenfelder, Kingdom Sports & Rec Pastor (info also on home page). It would be our honor to have your child(ren) a part of Upward Basketball next season. EVALUATIONS
Every player must attend an evaluation as part of the registration process. The dates, times, and location will be listed on the home page during promotion phase of season.
Note: the evaluations are NOT tryouts. There is no experience necessary to participate in this league. Players' skill levels are assessed, but EVERY child is placed on a team.
COACHING
Coaches are always needed, both head & assistant. Training is provided. If you are interested in coaching, please indicate this on your child's form, or contact Ken directly.

In Upward Basketball, your children are much more important to us than the shoes they wear, or the game they play. We certainly aim to teach them the fundamentals of the sport, broaden their knowledge base, and increase their skill level.
