Orientation

Every cheerleader must attend one of the available registration/orientation dates that are listed on the home page of this site.

Note: the cheerleaders are not evaluated, nor do they need to "try out". Every cheerleader is placed on a squad. There is no experience necessary to participate in Upward Cheerleading.

Coaching

Coaches are always needed, both head & assistant. Training is provided. If you are interested in coaching, please indicate this on your child's form, or contact Ken directly.

UPWARD CHEERLEADING
(Offered with Upward Basketball [currently registering] & Flag Football [registration in July] respectively)

• For girls, k5 through 8th grades

Upward Cheerleading promotes character and self-esteem in every child by providing:

• Equal opportunity for improvement
• A one-hour practice each week of the season
• Cheer time for one hour on game day

The one-time registration fee of $69 covers an 8-game season, as well as the following:

• Top
• Skort
• Poms
• Megaphone
• Uniform matching hair ribbon
• Winner Magazine
• Car Magnet
• Individual Awards after each practice and game
• End-of-season Award
• End-of-season Awards Night activities
• The cheer mock turtleneck is not covered, but optional at $13

Every cheerleader must attend a registration/orientation date (see home page on this site for a list of available dates). Practices occur in conjunction with Upward Basketball or Flag Football, depending on the season (i.e. if Upward Basketball teams are practicing in the Kingdom Sports & Rec Gym at New Life Community Church, then some cheerleader squads would be practicing there as well--maybe in a different part of the facility). Practices begin in early January with Upward Basketball, and are usually held on a weeknight at a rate of once per week for an hour, anywhere between 5:30 & 7:30pm, and typically on Mondays or Tuesdays. You can indicate which practice night is NOT good for you on your registration form. Games begin in late January, and take place each Saturday thereafter for 8 weeks. Awards Night brings everything to a close in mid-March.
